Les Prés de Laure (Comps-sur-Artuby, Var, France) is an open air site. It was discovered in 2012 during a research program focusing on the occupation of the Southern Prealps during the prehistory. The several archeological layer are dated from 27 to 23 ka cal. BP. This period covers the end of the Gravettian and the beginning of the so called Early Epigravettian, contemporaneously to the Solutrean and Badegoulian in Western Europe.
In a low energy alluvial deposits context, the site has well preserved the both spatial and stratigraphic organization of archeological remains (lithic, fauna, calcareous stones…).
The project is conducted by Louise Purdue, Guillaume Porraz, Antonin Tomasso and Veerle Rots.
