Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the 5th general meeting of the project could not take place in Basel, as originally planned, and has been commuted to an online meeting. The members of ‘Crossing Boundaries’ were joined by Rob Demarée for two days of updates, reports, and discussions on Zoom about the different aspects of the project. We discussed four main topics: (1) updates about the situation at the Museo Egizio, and how our workflow will have to be adapted and research visits to Turin rescheduled in the next few months; (2) presentation and discussion of the functionalities of the new version of the Turin Online Papyrus Platform (TPOP); (3) institutional reports (Basel, Liège, Turin) about the transcription, encoding, and analysis of the digitized fragments of hieratic papyri; (4) individual reports about on-going PhD and Post-doc projects as well as individual and shared publications.
