After graduating with a B.A. in Egyptology from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, I decided to do my Master in Egyptology and Pre- and Early History and Archeology of the Roman Provinces at the University of Basel.
My primary tasks in the ‘Crossing Boundaries’ Project includes image editing and the importing of data into the Turin Papyrus Online Platform (TPOP). In addition to this, I am responsible for keeping the project website up to date. Besides data importing and the website I am also involved in the research of automatic classification and reconstruction of fragmentary papyri. Here, my key task is tagging signs and sign groups on New Kingdom hieratic papyri, which will then serve as data input for a deep learning project.
