BIOGRAPHY

Trained in reading hieratic texts, a large portion of my doctoral years were devoted to encoding Late Egyptian texts of various genres (literary and administrative) in the Ramses database. After completing my PhD at the Université de Liège, I assumed a post-doctoral position at the University Paul Valéry in Montpellier and began work on a corpus of roughly 200 unpublished hieratic ostraca kept at the IFAO. These ostraca – identified as letters – stem from Deir el-Medina. Their texts are not just of great importance to the study of daily life in the village, but also to linguistic research and work on scribal practices. Within the framework of the ‘Crossing Boundaries’ Project, my function is to identify and describe the content of heterogeneous papyri kept in the Turin collection. This work represents a preliminary step in the reconstruction of these documents (which are most often fragmentary) and will help contribute to a better understanding of their history.
